Gary I Stepp, 51, passed away unexpectedly September 25, 2018 in Knoxville, TN.
He was born September 19, 1967 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Charles and Lorraine Stepp (Washalski). He attended Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania and was in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He met his wife, Lisa Stepp (Sponaugle) while attending college and they married November 21st, 1987.
Gary spent his entire career in the restaurant industry, working for Perkins, Chi~Chi’s, Friendly’s and Hooters. When he wasn’t working, you would find him watching sports or coaching a baseball team- changing lives. He lived for the days when there was a baseball game and would spend hours at a field to prepare it for the game. When he wasn’t doing that, you would find him fishing or on a cruise to the Caribbean! He loved traveling with his family and could often be found at the roulette table or at a slot machine and lived for the “slot tournament” on the cruises!
He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy; brother in-laws, Wally Johnson and Daniel Brennan; sister in-law Jeannie Burke; and father in-law, Thomas Sponaugle.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Lisa Stepp (Sponaugle); daughter Jessica and partner Travis; sons Jameson and Jackson Thomas “JT”; parents Charles and Lorraine (Washlaski) of Greenville, PA; sisters Sue Brennan and Terry Johnson, both of Greenville; mother in-law, Rachel Ludwig, of Minerva, OH. He had eleven nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. He always looked forward to family get-togethers at his parents’ for a friendly card game.
The funeral service will be held October 2, 2018 at All Saints Catholic Church, 620 N. Cedar Bluff Rd, Knoxville TN at 10:30 a.m.
